lnterested in a south coast wedding ceremony ? The possibilities are endless - spectacular scenery, pristine beaches, an abundance of National Parks, lush gardens, heritage houses, verdant vineyards, fabulous function centres, ritzy restaurants - it's up to you. I offer my marriage celebrant services throughout the South Coast & Shoalhaven covering Nowra, Kangaroo Valley, Cambewarra, Callala, Culburra Kiama, Berry, Jervis Bay, Mollymook, Ulladulla, Milton and beyond! Here are just a few suggestions. I also have a commercial permit allowing me to perform marriage ceremonies in beautiful Booderee National Park.
Currarong One of my favourites, a sleepy village with a unique character and some spectacular beaches, Who could resist the attractions of the romantically named Mermaid Inlet, Honeysuckle Bay, Bosom Beach or the heart shaped Honeymoon Bay and the nearby Point Perpendicular lighthouse which offers spectacular views of Jervis Bay. You can opt for a ceremony on the beach, wedding, on the reserve near the Rockpool or in the the cute Rotunda in Dolphin Reserve. You can even arrive by boat - at my favourite Currarong wedding the bride's father rowed her along the creek to the ceremony. Virginia and Adam (and some locals) at Bosom Beach

Callala Bay. If you're looking for a large seaside house that can provide ceremony, reception and even honeymoon venue plus a fantastic backdrop, this one is definitely worth checking out. The owner is very amenable to letting the house out for weddings which can be performed on the reserve out the front (the stone steps make for a sensational bridal procession) or on the large balcony. Another great find is the Callala Beach Community which offers a really affordable venue adjacent to a gorgeous beach spot and it can easily be transformed from just a community hall into something special. Riversdale at Bundanon Trust is a Murcutt designed building which has breathtaking views of the Shoalhaven River. Couples can be married down on the grass in a natural ampitheatre, or on the balcony. Either choice makes for an amazing location. Guests can also stay overnight in onsite location - given the rather hairy driveway it's not a bad option. I probaby perform more wedding ceremonies at Hyams Beach than any other location and it's not hard to see why. Hyams claims to have the whitest sand in the world and the backdrop over the bay is pretty breathtaking. It can get quite crowded in the holiday season but it's always possible to find a quiet stretch of sand for quiet elopement or 100 of your closest friends.
More beautiful Beaches to consider: Nelsons, Blenheim, Murray's and the very popular Greenfields
Paperbark Camp is a really unique venue offering an inspiring backdrop (for your ceremony, reception, honeymoon or all three) really friendly service and one of the best restaurants on the south coast. 571 Woollamia Rd., Woollamia Ph: 4441 6066 | Toll free 1300 668 16 Christians Minde - Heritage house on 11 acres in Jervis Bay Ph: 02 4441 1102
Berrara Beach Chalets - not just another tourist park, this was my great discovery for 2011. You can set up a small marquee on the headland, put all your guests in adjoining chalets and have a million dollar view for tourist park prices.
Merribee is one of my favourite spots, an 1850s architect restored coastal cottage with a selection of truly lovely landscaped ornamental gardens in a very pretty part of the world and a sense of bucolic bliss. You can also book the silo to sleep in!
If a fairytale wedding is something you have always dreamt about you really can't go past Terrara House. Very easy to imagine Cinderalla pulling up that gorgeous drive - but hard to see her managing to tear herself away by 12! Kangaroo Valley Upper River Hall. This is another great find. I've performed a few weddings here and they have all been quite magical. It's in a fantastic ocation - a bit isolated with plenty of room for guests - and children - to run wild, well priced (bit of a bargain really) and sooo pretty. There are a few nice options along the river for the ceremony or the grounds are nice with the suspension bridge across the road making for a slightly wobbly but sensational entrance .
The Boatshed Wharf Rd, Nowra 02 4421 2419
This place is truly amazing. Such a perfect venue. It has on site cottages so everyone can make a weekend of it, a natural cathederal with a fantastic atmosphere - some sort of cross between the completely natural and the utterly divine, and a deck with amazing views over the Valley. Another plus is the lack of noise restrictions so if you plan on partying into the small hours - and since it's a once in a lifetime celebration with all the people you love best you should! - there are no problems. A really special location. A Federation farmhouse built in 1918 and lovingly restored historic blue stone cottage dating back to the 1850's form a landmark on the "bends" just south of Kiama Ph: 02 4232-4676
Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club is available for hire. It is the perfect beachsuide wedding venue with very reasonable rates and priceless views. .
Silos Estate just on the outskirts of picturesque Berry, the boutique winery and award winning restaurant combined with the beautiful grounds and b&b accommodation provide an ideal country wedding location. Ph: 02 4448 6082 thesilos@thesilos.com
If I ever get married again it will definitely be at Bannisters, or maybe I'll have to invent an occasion just so I can sip a Bloody Mary beside that amazing pool! Has a great retro vibe and a Rick Stein restaurant as well, there are a range of other accommodation options you can even rent Rick's own beach house which makes a rather spectacular and stylish venue. Mitchell Parade, Mollymook, Ph: 02 4455 3044 Bendalong is a quintessential little seaside village. Great laidback atmosphere, fantastic 50's beach houses and a range of options for wedding ceremonies. Dee Beach and Washerwoman's are favourites and the local tourist park even offers wedding packages! Shoalhaven River Cruise Get married onboard or cruise down the beautiful Shoalhaven River and alight at a reserve like Bangalee. Ph: 0429 981 007 info@shoalhavenrivercruise.com
